The John Varvatos ad from the magazine that I chose caught my eye immediately since it used the redline theme - red, black, and white colors. The serious expression from the original ad carried a mood that I believed needed to be mimicked. The image I us
ed was originally in color and needed to be adjusted to match the John Varvatos ad. Then, the text was written out to match the ad. Finding the typeface to match the original ad was time consuming task of the ad inspiration since it needed to characterize many elements of the original typeface. Once the typefaces were found, placement, color, and adjustments was chosen. Making sure the proportions were equal to the original ad were important too since they could throw off the entire appeal of the ad. The guide features on Canva.com helped with this as well. In my opinion, both ads could have been in a magazine due to all of the skills I have learned and applied through Canvas.com.
